A Latin American cultural center and music venue at 3105 Shattuck Ave in Berkeley, founded in 1975 in solidarity with Chilean refugees of the Pinochet regime. For fifty years La Peña has presented a rich calendar of folk, nueva canción, jazz, world music, and spoken word alongside art exhibitions, theater, and community organizing — one of the most politically and artistically vital spaces in the East Bay.
