A restored 1917 movie palace at 2036 University Ave in Downtown Berkeley, brought back to life in 2016 after a decade-long revival led by the nonprofit Berkeley Music Group. The ~1,400-cap venue now books an ambitious mix of touring rock, indie, metal, hip-hop, and electronic acts, while retaining its classic marquee and ornate theater interior.
